We study the effect of multiple heart transplants on pediatric patients. We analyze UNOS data on transplants between 2006 and 2019, taking demographics and known risk factors for post-transplant mortality into account. Performing a multivariable Cox Regression, we found that cardiac retransplantation was associated with increased post-transplant all-cause mortality, but not for increased acute rejection episodes.
